Now we take a look at his beloved brother, Flex DuoClean HV391.

This product is almost the same as the wireless stick, but it comes with a cord. You could say that this variant is a slightly better version of HV382 DuoClean Missile.

Great for people with some back problems as bending can lead to back spasms.

Introduction to Shark Flex DuoClean HV391

This stick vacuum cleaner will offer plenty of versatility thanks to its interchangeable tools. You could say that Shark drew its inspiration from Dyson, which is a good thing because its design works.

But they have some unique features of their brand.

DuoClean cleaning head

Perhaps the biggest difference between Dyson and Shark is the design of the cleaning head. In the case of Dyson, they use separate heads for bare floors and carpeting.

Shark did not want to copy the Dyson design but instead created his own. And they call this DuoClean technology.

This feature was first found in Rocket Series Then Liftway. And that’s a big reason why Shark is catching up with Dyson when it comes to market share.

If you’re not used to it, DuoClean combines a soft roller applicator and a bristle brush. These two work together to literally pull dirt. This is why this vacuum cleaner scores high points for cleaning performance in the reviews.

It might not be the best deep cleaning machine, but if you need something for a maintenance clean, this will do the job.

The fine roller applicator works great on dirt particles large and small. And thanks to the larger opening in the cleaning head, it prevents dirt from sliding forward.

LED headlights

Shark is one of the few blanks that come with LED headlights. In my opinion, this is a great feature especially if you are tracking dust under furniture in low light.

MultiFlex Technology

Another unique feature found in Shark is MultiFlex technology. What this feature does is twofold.

First, the vacuum cleaner will help you move under the furniture in a flexed position without having to kneel or bend over.

Second, it allows for vacuum independent storage without a wall mount. The middle part of the extension stick is flexible, so the vertical space is cut in half when folded.

So you can store this inside your wardrobe under your clothes.

Active-Glide Technology

Moving from carpet to bare floor and back is made easier with Active-Glide technology.

I think this is just a fancy Shark term for auto height adjustment, where the brush automatically adjusts itself depending on the surface you’re cleaning.

Full anti-allergic seal

Shark says this vacuum cleaner will keep dust and allergens inside the container under 0.1 microns. This means that it has two filters – one before the engine and one after it.

People with allergies can use it, but since it is bagless, there will still be exposure to dirt during the unpacking process.

tools

Aside from the main DuoClean head, the HV391 comes with other tools for cleaning above surface areas.

This includes:

Pet Multi Tool

This small turbo brush comes with hard bristles that help remove pet hair and other debris from fabric upholstery or carpet stairs. A must have if you own pets.

Shark Flex Under Stick Device

If you have furniture at home with really short legs where a regular vacuum head wouldn’t fit, this tool would be a great plus.

The low profile design will allow this to fit most furniture. And clean up any dust that accumulates under it.

Mixed Brush / Slit Tool

A versatile tool that will help you clean a myriad of things from air vents and consoles to cobwebs from dull ceilings.

cleaning performance

Before I comment, please watch this video and see how good DuoClean is Works on hard wood And the carpet…

Executing floor cleaning

One of the biggest strengths of DuoClean technology is its ability to pull dirt of any size onto literally bare floors. And since this vacuum cleaner has a cord, there is very little power.

But what makes this cleaner good on any bare floor surface is the soft roller bar in front of the bristle brush.

This makes the Dyson V8 an absolute beast, and the same can be said of the Shark Flex HV391.

You don’t have to worry about snow as it removes dirt from the ground.

As you can see in the video, snow still cuts large pet food. The soft cylinder head was able to pick it up easily. The LED headlights are bright.

Do you have a big mess of Cheerios or chips? No problem, pull this out, and it will clean it up for you.

Carpet and rug cleaning

The beauty of the DuoClean header will be its versatility. Not only will it clean great on bare floors, but it will also work well on carpets.

It can pick up debris of different sizes of rice, dust and large pieces of beans.

upholstery

This vacuum cleaner also comes with a small turbo brush that allows you to clean tough dirt from your fabric upholstery.

If you are not familiar with the term “mini turbo brush”, it is basically a small tool with a whisk applicator.

What I like about this tool is the stiff brushes that dig and move dirt. So you won’t have any problems cleaning dander or pet hair from sofas or chairs.

Consumer Reviews

Many consumers love how lightweight and versatile this product is. Some even said it was too light to stand on its own. You have to remember that the 2-in-1 design does not allow it to stand on its own.

The Dyson V8 and V6 You’ll run into this problem, and you’ll need a wall mount to store it. Shark solves the storage problem by allowing the stick to bend in half. But this was a problem for some.

The strength is good, and the cleaning performance is excellent. People say this machine will clean your home and the compact design makes it smart. You will reach areas that large lists cannot reach.

The downside though is the lighter weight, the heavy design would be a small dirt cup. And since it’s heavy on top, your arms may feel tired if you use this for a long time.

Another complaint is the narrow head, which is only 9 inches wide and lacks tool storage. Again, there will be compromises on voids with this type of design.

Does Shark Flex Duo Clean HV391 offer good value?

This stick vacuum has the same Duo Clean system found in more expensive Shark vacuums such as the ION F80 and P50, but It doesn’t cost much. But it doesn’t have the same portability as the other two variants you mention because it has a wire. Another issue is that Shark no longer supports this, only refurbished units are available, which I wouldn’t recommend buying as their date is unknown.

The only reason I think you should buy this is if you want a Duo Clean but don’t want to spend more than $200 for it.

to finish

Let’s say you need a versatile vacuum cleaner that is capable of cleaning floors, upholstery, and other above-floor areas. Look no further than the Shark Flex DuoClean. Sure, the wire might be a problem for some, but if you don’t mind that limitation, it’s like having a Dyson with a wire.

The DuoClean head is a great tool for cleaning various surfaces from tile, hardwood, vinyl, and carpet. But I must warn you not to expect a deep clean of it.

This vacuum cleaner is a high-traffic area cleaner and will keep dirt from accumulating. It has a small container, so you will need to empty it often.

This is the compromise you have to make for a versatile cleaner like this one. If you, don’t want the wire to get in the way, go with the Shark IONFlex. However, if you’re okay with wire, this will be a handy cleaner inside small to medium sized homes.

summary

Buying an equivalent vacuum cleaner from Shark requires spending over $300 if you don’t mind the limitations of the cord, the Shark Flex Duo Clean HV391 is an excellent option that comes with a generous amount of attachments. As with most newer Shark vacuums, it comes with a Duo Clean head that picks up dirt on hard floors. It also works well on carpets, but not as well as a Dyson V10 or V11. Its versatility, thorough cleaning performance, and price make it an attractive alternative to more expensive stick-free vacuums.
