Rydis MR6550 is one of the few hybrid cleaners on the market that combines suction and wiping in one package.
Note that the mop will only work on hard floors, and since it uses a small microfiber tape, its effectiveness is a big question mark as we’ll find out in this review.
There are two advantages that make it a good budget alternative to the more expensive Roomba or Neato, if you don’t want to spend a few hundred extra dollars.
First, it uses a lithium-phosphate battery that Monual claims to have at least 1,000 recharge cycles.
Other nickel-cadmium brands only have a maximum of 500 recharge cycles.
Second, instead of a standard DC motor, it uses a brushless DC motor that operates up to 10 times longer.
Table of Contents
Positives

- He has the advantage of the next wall
- easy to empty
Negatives
- No HEPA filtration
- Random cleaning pattern can miss some stains
- Room cleaning takes longer than Roomba
- small dirt box
- Limited scheduling feature
- Small hole means it can’t pick up bigger debris
What do you expect from the Moneual Rydis MR6550?
Aside from the brushless DC motor and lithium phosphate battery, the Rydis MR6550 comes with a rubber robotic agitator and two side brushes to sweep dirt into the cylinder path where the suction takes over.
The dirt bin can only hold about 600 miles, so it’s on the small side which means you’ll need to empty it often.
- It uses a brushless DC motor that is claimed to last 10 times longer than a standard DC motor
- Powered by a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery that will get nearly 1,000 charge cycles, at least two times more than a NiCd battery
- Low clearance (3.23 inches) makes it suitable for most furniture
- It has a total of 7 cleaning modes
- “High Efficiency Filter” traps most dust and allergens (does not contain a HEPA filter)
- Comes with a detachable microfiber mop
- Cleaning can be scheduled within an hour or every 24 hours (you cannot specify a specific time)
- Returns to the charging station if the battery is low
- Comes with a room indicator that allows it to clean multiple rooms
Here is a quick overview of the features
Full specifications can be found here.
Mobility
Moneual was very vague about how Rydis navigates, from what I read on their website in the default setting, it detects the “most efficient” cleaning path.
In this review on Apartment Therapy, she says it had a random pattern similar to the Roomba’s and took longer to clean.
It has 7 cleaning modes which makes it fairly flexible.
It has shelf and object sensors so it won’t fall off stairs and won’t hit hard objects to reduce abrasion on your furniture.
Are you going to clean the stairs?
no.
scheduled cleaning
The cleaning can be scheduled automatically by itself but you only have two options.
(1) You can set it to clean in an hour which means you can program it to clean a room for an hour.
(2) Or you can set it up to clean every 24 hours.
No, you cannot enter specific times or program this to clean at different times each day.
Shipping time
Recharging will take about 120 minutes although some reviews have mentioned that it takes less time.
Filter cleaning
Removing the dustbin is easy, just unscrew the cap and remove the dustbin (yes it has a handle!), remove the filter and empty it. The included filter is washable.
the show length
In normal mode, expect about 100 minutes of runtime, in turbo mode that will drop to around 70 minutes.
Guarantee
Comes with a one year warranty on parts and labor.
Floor cleaning
On bare floors like hardwood or tile, it will do a good job because the suction is very strong and it has a rubber agitator that helps “pull” dirt, dust, and debris up.
Carpet cleaning
It won’t be as effective on carpet as it is on hard floors, so don’t expect any deep cleaning here.
carpets
Got a dark rug? Don’t worry, it doesn’t have the Infinuvo drawback as it won’t be bypassed simply because it thinks it’s a ramp.
It transfers without major problems at all for carpets less than half an inch thick.
Pet hair removal
Since it has a rubber batting pet, human hair will be picked up. Short pet hair will not tangle with the agitator but long human hair can, so make sure you have your scissors and brush ready for cleaning.
Hair can suck from the side brush as well and you will need a screwdriver to remove the side brush to clean the hair.
Hair also hangs on wheels, so it’s another thing to watch out for.

Customer Reviews
Just over 30 people left a review on Amazon and many of them were positive. Consumers liked it because it cleaned well and wasn’t too noisy (compared to the Core77 with a hair dryer).
The mop feature has received mixed reviews while some customers liked the microfiber mop, and others say it was useless.
The commute was a mixed bag too, and there were people satisfied that others didn’t say they had to pick it up and return it to its charging base.
Stammering is another frequent complaint in reviews, it usually trips when there is clutter like wires or wires, and can also get stuck between chair legs, so be sure to clear the clutter before adjusting this.
Where can I buy this?
You can buy this robot from Amazon for $220, but unfortunately it is no longer new.
Conclusion
This product will be great for homeowners who have the most hard floors in their homes, pet owners will also benefit because this robot is definitely capable of picking up pet hair on hard surfaces.
It won’t do a good job on the rug though.
They will certainly last longer because they use a lithium phosphate and brushless DC motor which will be based on research that lasts at least twice as much as their older counterparts NiCad and a standard DC motor.
It still doesn’t have the advanced navigation found in Neato or iRobot but it’s not too far away, just don’t expect it to be quite far because it either gets lost or gets stuck somewhere.
You will also lose some sites, so you may have to turn them on more than once to get everything.
The room indicator function is a bit fuzzy and one consumer said it doesn’t work and it is not recommended to buy more.
At just under $300, this is a good deal for people looking for a cheaper alternative to Neato or Roomba.
