In many ways, the Roomba 760 is similar to the 770, with the only difference being that it doesn’t have a full basket indicator so if you don’t mind not having that feature, you’ll only have to spend $320 for this.
Unfortunately, Roomba has discontinued production of the 700 series and replaced it with the Roomba 860. You can also check out the latest 900 series Roomba vacuum cleaner which now has more efficient navigation and better cleaning performance.
In terms of size and features, they are similar and have the 760 a slightly higher rating on Amazon (just in case you’re interested).
People with allergies who are looking for a good value robot vacuum cleaner with the best of the line features but don’t want to pay the extra $100 to $200 for an improved dirt detection system should take a long look at this one.
All 700 Series Roombas have the same motor and brush as well as all have the same cleaning tools.

What can you expect from the iRobot Roomba 760?
It comes with the same 3-stage cleaning system found in all Roomba 700 robots.
The side brush reaches the edges, the two counter-round brushes act as a broom and washer, and finally the suction pushes everything into the dirt bin.
Inside the dirt container are two HEPA filters that prevent most allergens from coming back out.
It’s a bagless system, so there are no bags to replace and the filters are washable.
- easy to use
- Moves back and forth in the most polluted areas
- Charging time 3 hours
- 2 anti pet hair rotating brushes
- Comes with two virtual walls
- Single-sided brush system helps reach dirt on edges and corners
- The scheduling feature allows users to independently schedule cleaning once per day, 7 days per week
Mobility
Like all 700 Roombass, the 760 uses iAdapt technology that makes 60-plus decisions per second, and while it may move in a random motion, it learns over time, so the longer you use it in your home, the more effective it will be. Be as he learns the layout and shape of rooms.
You may miss some areas but these are few.
As with all robotic vacuum cleaners, consumers have to do their part and remove all loose wires, light rugs, toys, litter boxes, littered paper, etc., as these are potential roadblocks that can slow them down.
It can clean multiple rooms but remember to use a virtual wall to block out rooms you don’t want to enter and have at least 3 feet of free space around the docking station.
Will he clean the stairs?
No, so far none of the robot vacuums on the market can do that.
scheduled cleaning
Up to 7 times a week – once a day.
Shipping time
It will take 3 hours.
Filter cleaning
Since this uses a HEPA filter, iRobot recommends replacing it once every 2-3 months but replacing it more frequently if used often.
Manual says the filters are washable but consumers recommend using compressed air to clean them. I would avoid washing the HEPA filter just to be sure. Most HEPA filters used by robotic companies use a paper element to filter out microscopic dust and wetting this part can damage it.
the show length
It will last about 90 minutes on average based on reviews.
Guarantee
All iRobot vacuums have a 1 year warranty on the robot plus 6 months on the battery.
Executing floor cleaning
Similar to other 700 Series Roombas, it does its best job on this surface, picking up pet hair and dusting rabbits around the room and under furniture that some consumers love because the rolls and most chests can’t reach the deepest areas under the bed.
Note that this will remove loose dirt. Deep cleaning isn’t the most powerful robot vacuum set.
Carpet cleaning
The 760 will do a pretty decent job judging by the reviews. But you’ll have to temper expectations because the robot vacuum won’t clean carpets as deeply. It works best as a daily cleaner as it will protect against dirt build-up and reduce the need to take out the poles.
Pet hair won’t be a problem as long as you don’t have an entire army of dogs inside your house.
carpets
You will have no problem transitioning from the floor to the carpet as long as the rug is not too thick.
Low to medium pile carpet cleaning will also not be a problem but will struggle with really thick shaggy carpets. Don’t forget to put rug tassels on because they are another trouble spot that can stop a robot in its tracks.
Pet hair removal
The dual brush system iRobot uses in its line is generally effective at cleaning pet hair. They will be equally effective on carpets and bare floors. But the biggest problem will be maintenance because the hair and lint will stick to it.

Customer Reviews
Nearly 80 people left a review on Amazon with very few giving a negative review (only 7 so far).
Consumers were pleased with the cleaning performance and navigation. Some say the robot “learns” and “adapts” to the environment the longer it is used.
But I will take this claim with caution because all 700 Series robots still use the infrared-based navigation system.
This means that it will go in a random direction when it hits an object. It doesn’t have the SLAM algorithm found in the 980 so it wouldn’t be smart.
What people appreciate is its ability to clean under furniture and clean pet hair.
The biggest concern will be the motorized brush that needs regular cleaning. Removing the brush is not difficult but it can be a daunting process especially for homes with a lot of pets.
There have also been complaints that this robot “eats” loose wires. Once again, iRobot advises its customers to clear the area of any loose wires before leaving the robot clean because the loose wire will stop the robot in its tracks.
Reviews from other sites
iRobot Store
iRobot customers who gave a positive review were pleased with the ease of use and scheduling.
It was so efficient that it filled the dirt basket very quickly. This is another problem if you have a large house – the need to empty the trash often. But this is evidence of the effectiveness of this robot.
Consumers here really love the ability to schedule because it saves them a lot of time vacuuming themselves.
Many complaints centered on the noise generated. One of the reviews said that this bot ruined its simplicity.
To avoid problems with this, clean the area rug separately if it is too expensive.
Overall, I got a very good score on the iRobot Store.
Where can I buy this?
You can buy this on Amazon for about $320 and it will be eligible for free two-day shipping if you join Prime.
Extended warranties of up to 3 years are also available if you want even more peace of mind.
to finish
The Roomba 760 would be great for busy people looking for an assistant who cleans their house for them. In fact, any suitable robot vacuum cleaner will do the job. It has all the features you need from a good standalone cleaner – scheduling, good agitation, and decent suction.
There are some concerns about noise and the little dirt box, but that’s just a minor trick compared to when it’s free.
Remember that since it is a robot, it will not act like a human but give it some time and it will learn and be more efficient as it adapts to your home surroundings.
One of the best value Roombas on the market if you’re not willing or can’t afford the higher-end 780 and 790 models.
All of these variants come with the same style brushes, motor and scheduling feature.
Note that it does not come with a virtual beacon or enhanced intelligence and does not have any of the touch controls found on the 780 and above.
But for the price, it’s a good investment for busy people looking for help with house cleaning or pet owners looking to keep their floors free of pet hair.
iRobot also has newer variants in its line and this includes the Roomba 880, 860, 960 and 980. Be sure to check out all of these products and compare their features before purchasing.
