Over the past few months, they have launched three new products – the A4S, A6, and V5S Pro which I will be showing you today.
This robot is an upgraded version of the V5 Pro (or V5S) which now has a new brushless motor, upgraded batteries and a water tank (similar to the V7S Pro).
If your home only has bare floors, this is a great option as it comes with a sweep feature. It doesn’t have any motorized brush but you don’t really need it on your bare floor.
Let’s dive into the features and performance of the V5S Pro and see how it works.
Positives
- Optimized battery improves uptime
- The brushless motor will last longer because it is more efficient
- The water tank now has a valve that regulates the flow of water
- Good suction more than enough for bare floors
- No motorized brush means there is less part to service
- The low profile will be able to reach under a lot of furniture
- Offers more value for money compared to the V5S (if you buy it on Amazon)
Negatives
- It lacks a motorized brush, so it will not be able to clean the carpet
- small dirt box
- It doesn’t contain the real blues action found in iRobot Braava

What do you expect from the V5S Pro?
ILIFE has been busy now upgrading its products and the V5S Pro is one of the latest bots.
From the top, it looks just like the older V5S but has several significant upgrades aimed at improving uptime, scanning, and longevity.
upgrades
The battery and motor were the biggest upgrades.
This replacement is now equipped with a second generation brushless motor that should last longer. ILIFE also added an additional lithium-ion battery to the mix, bringing the total to 4.
Combine the efficiency of a brushless motor with improved runtime of four lithium-ion batteries to a maximum of around 150 minutes.
A longer running time means that it will be able to clean up more space. But it won’t perform as well as Xiaomi or Neato BotVac when it comes to cleaning multiple rooms.
The latter two are more expensive and use superior navigation technology based on a laser sensor and SLAM algorithm. So it wouldn’t be hard to compare it to these two.
top view
It looks just like the V5S and has the same dimensions.
View from the bottom
The layout remains the same. It has two side brushes, one front steering wheel and two large rubber wheels.
The biggest difference will be the color at the bottom – from white to black. I like the change because it won’t be as prone to smudging, if that’s a big concern for you.
Mobility
This robot still uses 5 infrared sensors and a wall sensor that helps it navigate and avoid obstacles. They will have the same cleaning pattern as all ILIFE robots – that is, they will go in a random direction when the infrared sensors detect an obstacle.
What I love about this robot is that it doesn’t hit furniture hard, so you don’t have to worry about scuffing.
However, it lacks the small room cleaning mode found in ILIFE A6 but that shouldn’t be a problem as it will still do the cleaning job without it.
far
The design of the remote control remains the same except for some minor aesthetic changes. The first will be the color. The V5S remote was more like a dirty white with a blue face while the new remote control for the V5S Pro was all white.
Another subtle difference is the plan and clock buttons that have icons instead of words.
New water tank
Another big improvement made by ILIFE is the water tank design. The new tank now has a valve that prevents water from dripping out when the robot is turned off.
This is an improvement over the previous V5S as it relies solely on gravity.
When the robot is turned off, the water still leaks out and eventually produces a water puddle if you don’t remove it in time.
I’ve run into a problem a few times I’ve tested the scanning features of this bot.
However, unlike the V7S Pro, you can’t schedule this to get rid of but that shouldn’t be a big deal for most people.
What comes in the box?
Out of the box you will get:
- Android V5S Pro with dirt container inside
- Charging base and plug (auto volt)
- 300ml water tank
- 2 extra side brushes
- Additional HEPA filters
- Remote (with two AAA batteries)
- Mop holder (with microfiber pad)
- extra pillow
- User’s Guide and Quick Start Guide
Floor cleaning
If your home only has a bare floor, the ILIFE V5S Pro is one of the best options on the market right now. It doesn’t have any motorized brush, so you don’t have to worry about cleaning.
In terms of power, it has about the same amount of power as the A6 but costs $100 less. In my opinion, this offers a better deal if you don’t need to clean the carpet.
During my first cleaning test, I tested this on 50g of oats, powder, rabbit dust, hair, etc.
Here are some pictures after…
After running this for about 15 minutes (more or less), it was too good to be true. He was able to pick up 48 grams out of 50 scatterers. This is better than the A6 I tested a week ago especially at the edges where it was able to pick up just about everything.

Where can I buy this robot?
The V5S Pro is available on Amazon and it cost $200.
to finish
The new water tank prevents unnecessary drip because it has a valve that stops the flow of water when the robot is turned off.
It now has a second generation brushless motor and 4 lithium batteries that improves the runtime to around 150 minutes. So this would work fine in larger homes but wouldn’t work as well as Xiaomi or Neato when it came to cleaning multiple rooms.
In my opinion, this offers better value compared to the older V5S and X5 due to the upgrades.
