If I could build the perfect vacuum cleaner, I would put in a powerful motor, a couple of side brushes and a mop so I wouldn’t have to do the job by hand.
The iClebo has done all three, but is it the perfect robot vacuum?
Let’s find out.
famous in asia
You may not have heard of the iClebo Arte YCR-M05-10 Robot Vacuum Cleaner. But it is such a popular brand in Korea that it competes with Samsung as the best dog in this niche.
It is also popular in Europe and Asia. Reading the product description, the company claims that it “cleans up to 94% more than other robots.”
Now I don’t know who the “other bots” are but these are pretty strong claims.
It also says that it has the highest score in the World Standard Certification Procedure Exam which is one of the top 3 German journals.
This is a screenshot of the article I found on iClebo.
I added this review here because I saw it being flagged as one of the best robot vacuums in the top ten reviews so I decided to investigate and here’s what I discovered.
Quick look at the features
- 5 cleaning modes
- Uses a lithium-ion battery
- 2-in-1 Versatility for Vacuum Cleaner and Mop
- 160 minutes running time
- 2 side brushes
- 15 sensors
- HEPA filter is used
- Not too noisy – iClebo claims it’s around 55dB which is lower than Roomba or Neato
- 3.5 inch low clearance
- Has a wiper feature
- HEPA filter
- Back and forth cleaning pattern can be predicted
- 2 side brushes
- Obstacles up to 20 mm (or about 0.788 in) high can be bypassed
- The manual does not say whether it has cliff sensors
- It tends to get stuck under the legs of chairs or tables
- May have trouble finding a “home base” in large areas
What do you expect from iClebo Arte YCR-M05-10?
This is one of the very few robot vacuums that has a mop function but does not have a water tank like the Moneual Rydis H68.
If you want to use the wet mop feature, you must pre-soak the microfiber cloth before attaching it.
One big advantage this product has over the Roomba or Neato is the lithium-ion batteries it uses which take about 100 minutes to charge and will run for over two hours.
To clean it, a single motorized brush consisting mostly of bristles is used that the manufacturer claims removes 89% of the sand on wood floors. 99% of the cedar grain is also on hardwood and 99% of the cedar grain is on carpet.
Full specifications can be found here.
In short, this navigates like Neato and Roomba, let me explain.
It has 5 cleaning modes. The first mode, called navigation mode, tells the robot to move in a back-and-forth motion.
I’m not sure if it cleans the perimeter first before moving towards the middle. But looking at the illustration that might not be the case.
The third mode is a random cleaning pattern that works best in a dirty room.
It will continue in a random pattern for the full 60 minutes and then stop. Other modes include Spot Mode and Max Mode that combines the first and third cleaning modes.
Then the last option is the wet mop, in which a wet microfiber cloth is placed and goes in a straight zigzag pattern.
Here are the five cleaning modes that should be clarified:
If you’re curious about how it navigates, it uses a combination of 15 sensors, including 3 in front of the bumper to navigate around obstacles.
Plus it also has a top-mounted camera for a “view map” of the room.
He’s pretty vague in his description of these sensors and the action of the camera, but here are some interesting numbers.
It says the sensors detect their surroundings 200 times per second and that the navigation software goes through 10,800 calculations per second. The camera takes pictures at 24 frames per second.
iClebo did not specify if this would be able to do multiple rooms.
Are you going to clean the stairs?
You can schedule the cleaning of the bot automatically. But the guide isn’t clear if you can schedule it at a different time each day.
The manual states that a full charge will take about 100 minutes.
As with side brush robots and brush brushes, hair builds up on these two parts, so it is important to clean these two parts regularly with the wheels so they don’t wear out.
The side brushes can be removed by removing the screws.
The motorized brush roller can be removed by peeling off the main brush cover and removing the brush.
Comes with a brush cleaning tool to help remove dirt and hair.
the show length
Expect about 160 minutes on hard floors and less on carpet.
Warranty terms are not clear on Amazon, so if you are interested in buying contact Amazon or online store you buy from scratch before buying to avoid any problems.
iClebo contacted me and said there is tech support in the US. Here are the details.
Address: 220 Technology Drive, suite #220, Irvine, Ca 92618
Phone number: 1-888-372-8990
In the very few reviews I’ve read it’s been good on hardwood floors to pick up a lot of pet hair and dust on that surface as an added bonus it has a mop that you can use as a dry or wet mop.
Note that it does not have a water bowl, so you will have to wet the microfiber pad by hand for the wet mop.
Perform on a tiled surface…
The presence of the motorized brush roller makes this capable of picking up dirt on the carpet.
There haven’t been any reviews about it performing on the carpet yet so if you’ve purchased and used it on the carpet just let me know how it performed in the comments below.
Here’s a video of how it performed on the carpet (sorry, I can’t find any in English)…
The manufacturer claims that it can remove obstacles around 20mm that are only half an inch so you can climb and clean most carpets.
Pet hair removal
Again, there are not many reviews about pet owners here. Although one consumer reported success in handling pet hair on hard floors.

While this is a popular product in Europe and Asia, it is not very popular in the US due to the lack of customer support here.
I only got 3 reviews on Amazon and all of them are 5 stars. All consumers were happy with the performance and navigation saying there was no problem with navigation. They were good at removing dust and hair from hard surfaces.
There are no reviews here though for how it performed on the rug, so if you own one and have used it on the rug, just let me know how it performed in the comments section below.
Update August 2, 2014
It’s been over 6 months since this review was first published, and now is the time to provide an update on consumer feedback.
Some potential issues
It still maintains an overall rating on Amazon but reviews have been mixed in terms of cleaning performance and portability (a few people have also left a review in this review – thanks guys). Some say he was great at picking up dirt, dust, and pet hair while others said he struggled.
Another issue would be navigation. Some Revies say it struggles to maneuver around furniture legs. Sometimes it crashes. But other reviews say the navigation was good.
It seems to me that these might be lemonade units because Susan (an Amazon consumer) said an iClebo sales manager called her and said she had a 5% failure rate.
Australia product review
The total number of reviews was 2, one gave it 5 stars and the other 1 star. The five star review basically stated that they had no problem navigating their 4 bedroom home which has persian rugs, tiles and rugs. It was easy to use and clean and was cleaned well.
A consumer who gave a negative review said it didn’t navigate very well but stated that they bought it supervising and it was an earlier model with a wheel unit problem.
Where can I buy this?
You can buy this robotic vacuum cleaner on Amazon for less than $320. And it will come with free 2-day shipping if you join Prime.
Extended warranties of up to 3 years are also available if you want even more peace of mind.
Despite the high-tech features, this is a relatively unknown brand in the US, so real-world performance is a big question mark with the limited number of reviews.
Warranty claim will also be an issue if you don’t buy it from a reputable store like Amazon.
But if you’re the type who likes to try something new, the iClebo Arte YCR M05-10 is worth a try.
It has different cleaning patterns such as the zigzag pattern like the Neato Botvac. And a random cleaning pattern like Roomba. Choose one that fills what you need.
It also has a mop feature (you don’t need to buy a separate robot for this) just in case you’re looking for a wet mop for wet floors.
