Our house is not big. It’s just 40 square metres. Townhouse with lots of little nooks and crannies. Buying a huge vertical would be impractical.
First I have to find a storage space for it. Second, I can’t use it to clean stairs. Finally, I won’t be able to use it to clean vents and upholstery.

That’s where the DC58, Dyson’s newest and most powerful handheld vacuum to date, comes in.
Note that the DC58 is the same as the V6 trigger. Dyson has about 10 variants in its V6 lineup designed for specific needs.
They claim that it is 3 times more powerful than other portable devices on the market.
This isn’t really bad news as it drops the price to just under $190.
The DC58 is a handheld version of the DC59.
They have the same engine, charging time and running time. The biggest difference will be the attachments.

What do you expect from the Dyson DC59?
One of the best features of the DC58 is the motor.
It comes equipped with a v6 digital motor that rotates 110,000 times per minute.
Think about it for a second, it spins faster than a high-performance sports car.
This powerful motor produces up to 100 watts of air, three times the suction power of other vacuums but there is one caveat – it will only last 6 minutes.
In normal mode, it only produces 28 watts of antenna which is actually less than a handheld Black and Decker but it’s always nice to have that kind of power on tap when you need it.
Attachments and accessories
Comes with two – a slotting tool and an assembly tool.
The attachments on the DC44 would not fit snugly on the DC59 but one consumer was able to pull them off with electrical tape to make them fit snugly.
Shipping time
A full charge will take about three and a half hours.
Filter cleaning
Similar to the DC59, the filter is located in the middle of the dirt box and can be removed without having to separate the dirt box from the engine.
Here’s how to do it…
the show length
In normal mode, it will run for 20 minutes. In boost mode, this number drops to only 6 minutes.
Guarantee
It comes with a two-year warranty when purchased in the US.
bare floor performance
This is a completely spot cleaner as it does not contain any motorized brush attachments.
It’s great for picking up bits and pieces of Cheerios, rice grains, and similar types of debris. It will work great on dusting because of the brush tool.
carpet performance
The lack of an automatic attachment results in spot cleaning.
It will be able to pick up dust and pet hair on the carpet because it has an agitator under the agitator that helps remove dirt on carpets as well as upholstery.
upholstery performance
This will work well on upholstery because of the elbows.
The crevice tool works great at picking up dirt in tight spaces and the amalgamator works great on dust and hair.
Unlike cheaper vacuum cleaners that use friction to attach tools to the body, the DC58 has a secure locking mechanism that ensures they don’t fall out when applying some pressure.
pet hair
The absence of the small motorized tool somewhat limits its ability to clean pet hair from carpets, especially stairs, but it is still able to remove pet hair from carpets and upholstery due to the compound tool.
Watch it in action
An Amazon vineyard consumer compared this to a Black and Decker BDH2000FL and the suction power was surprisingly similar.

Customer Reviews
Consumers were generally pleased with the DC58’s performance. The best feature they liked was the strong suction power that was able to pick up a variety of debris such as pet droppings, bread crumbs, pet hair, dust, and the like.
Weight distribution is a big plus. Consumers say it didn’t strain their hands or wrists.
The trigger switch raised mixed reviews. Some like it because it helps them keep uptime while others don’t like it because it can be tiring.
As a spot cleaner, it shines because the power doesn’t fade and is light but the lack of a wall mount disappointed some people because of the price.
They felt it should have been included. Others were disappointed that it didn’t include any brush or motorized wand but remember this is the portable version of the DC59 which includes all the attachments I mentioned above.
The uptime wasn’t enough for some, but note that this is designed as a spot cleaner and should not be used as a main vacuum cleaner.
Where can I buy this?
This variant is exactly the same as the Dyson V6 Trigger. You can buy this on Amazon for less than $195 and it will be eligible for free 2-day shipping if you join Prime.
Extended warranties are also available for up to 3 years if you want that extra peace of mind.
Conclusion
This vacuum cleaner is great for people who are looking for a powerful hand vacuum to clean all the nooks and crannies around their home.
It comes with two attachments to do all the heavy lifting. The crevice tool will clean crevices and tight spaces.
The blender works well on pet hair and dust.
Despite the high price, many people still buy it because they know they will be getting a first-class product that will clean efficiently with top-notch after-sales service as evidenced by the reviews on Amazon.
The question is – are you willing to spend on this.
For me, although the price is a bit high, as you saw in the video I shared with you, the Black and Decker BDH2000FL more or less matches the performance of the DC59 and is about $70 cheaper plus has 4 flex feet – who takes this to a level else.
