Owners of homes with more than 3 dogs will have a hard time keeping up with all the pet hair around your house.
You will need something that will not only clean the floors but also the upholstery.
If price isn’t an issue for you, let me introduce you to the DC39 Animal, the full-size Dyson canister vacuum cleaner that comes with a tangle-free turbo tool.

This is similar to the original DC39, only this is slightly less powerful at the 275 watt antenna compared to the 280 watt antenna from the original DC39 but this comes with a tangle-free tool that costs $70 when purchased separately.
At just under $700, this full-size case is one of the most expensive on the market.
But if you compare it to the DC65 vertically, it still has more 30 watts of suction power than the DC65’s 245 air watts.

What do you expect from the Dyson DC39 animal?
Like I said in the introduction, this is very similar to the original DC39. It has the same dirt cup capacity, same floor tool and attachments, same extension, etc.
Tangle-free turbine tool
The biggest difference is the addition of a tangle-free turbine tool that Dyson claims will pick up pet hair minus the headache of clipping hair from a brush roll, hence the term “tangle-free.”
Surprisingly, this has slightly lower suction at 275 watts air compared to the 280 watts air from the original.
More Power than Dyson Upright
But note that it’s still powerful, about 30 watts more air than the Dyson DC65. To put this in perspective, the difference is the same power as the Dyson V6 Wireless in default.
No motorized brush
Keep in mind that the beater rod does not have its own motor, so stirring will not be good.
It is good and bad.
Good because you don’t have to worry about replacing belts. And bad because it’s not as powerful as models with dedicated motors on the floor, which means less deep cleaning power.
Dyson cyclone technology
All Dyson vacuums use cyclone technology that works efficiently at keeping microscopic dust away from the fibers. This ensures great performance even if the container is full.
ball technology
To help this caddy run a dime, it has ball technology. This is the big gray ball at the back of the void. Underneath it are a number of wheels that help it roll without the broom tipping over.

Watch it in action
Vacuum Cleaner Consultant summarizes the features and how to perform them on carpets and bare floors…
QVC features the DC39 but note that the attachments won’t be the same you’ll get on Amazon. If you buy this at QVC you’ll get the flat tool and the fine dusting brush while at Amazon you’ll get the tangle-free turbine brush. They also have a great show which is the main reason to share this video.
rope length
The power cord is 21.7 feet long and is a bit short but comes with a wire to rewind. The 5-foot-long hose and 4-foot-high stick make up for it.
Guarantee
Dyson backs it up with a 5-year warranty. You can also benefit from extended warranties if you buy this from Amazon.
bare floor performance
This would be effective on a bare floor as it gives consumers the option to turn off the whisk bar and use only suction to pick up debris.
It will work best on fine debris, dust, fine sand or ground coffee. Because of the low slope, there will be a plowing effect if you try to use this on larger pieces of debris like crushed chips or cherous.
For larger bits of dirt, remove the floor tool and use a stick or crevice tool.
If you like a demo of him working on hardwood, watch the QVC demo video.
carpet performance
Although it is equipped with a whisk rod, it is not powered by its own motor.
Instead it uses air to circulate it.
How does it affect performance?
Well, it will not be as efficient as a vacuum cleaner equipped with a motor dedicated to driving the brush.
It will not have the same deep cleaning performance as other brands such as ProLux stealth and Electrolux UltraActive.
Note however that this broom has strong suction power. This will be able to compensate for the absence of an automatic whisk rod.
It is certainly able to pick up large bits of debris with a crevice tool without any problems.
I said using a crevice tool because the front of the nozzle sits very low to the ground and creates a snow-breaking effect when used to clean up larger bits of dirt.
upholstery performance
This particular version does not include the small tool with the whisk rod instead it comes with the tangle-free turbine tool that does this…

This is pretty cool if you ask me and if I bought this it would cost $70 on Amazon.
This will come in very handy if you have pets at home or if your wife, sister or daughter has long hair which can be a nightmare to clean with a regular whisk.
Pet hair removal
This overhead vacuum cleaner is able to clean pet hair on both carpets and upholstery thanks to its main cleaning head and tangle-free turbine tool.
But here’s the caveat, it won’t work as well on carpet as it does on upholstery because it doesn’t have a motorized brush.
The rotating brush of this type does not have its own motor. It only relies on air for circulation. This may not be important on low pile carpet but will struggle with anything thicker.
Don’t expect this rug to clean deeply because it lacks excitement.
On upholstery, pet grooming will be great thanks to the tangle-free turbine tool.
It uses two opposite rotating brushes to pull and suck on pet hair.
This design reduces the amount of tangled pet hair, making it much easier to maintain.
It’s not as maintenance-free as Dyson markets it, but it won’t be nearly as good as a whisk applicator.

What do consumers say?
Many people who have purchased this broom have several pets and most have been happy with the results. They say the tangle-free turbine tool works great at cleaning pet hair minus the tangles.
However, it is not as maintenance free as Dyson claims. You will still need to check the counter-spinning gears from time to time if there is hair or debris inside.
The suction is great but the rotating brush doesn’t come with its own motor, so stirring isn’t good.
Won’t work well on a plush rug
While it picked up a lot of surface dirt, it had a hard time digging and cleaning the carpet deeply.
Some people also complained about the effect of snow plowing, the need to remove the floor tool only to clean large portions of debris.
The floor tool is light and good because it’s easy to move but also bad because you need to put in more effort to push it down onto the carpet to clean it deeply which is what you’re really struggling with.
Messy bin for cleaning
Other complaints include how messy it is to empty the trash, especially if there are a lot of pet hair and dust bunnies due to static charges.
You may need to use your fingers but if you have a large container, just put the dirt cup inside and then open the lid and shake the dust cup so you don’t need to use your fingers.
Other cases
There were also complaints about the suction power that it was hard to squeeze the carpet, but if you look at the video reviews, that doesn’t seem to be a problem.
If you look at the handle, there is a lever that pulls on to reduce suction, you can use it to clean more delicate things like blinds or blinds.
Despite all the complaints, the majority of consumers liked the way this case performed.
It was lightweight, easy to maneuver (especially under furniture), had strong suction and was great at removing pet hair. The price is a bit pricey but accordingly it is an investment.
Where can I buy this?
You can buy the Dyson DC39 Animal on Amazon for less than $700. And it will come with free 2-day shipping if you join Prime.
Amazon also sells extended warranties of up to 3 years just in case you want peace of mind.
to finish
This is a great option for pet owners who are looking for a vacuum cleaner that helps them clean pet hair thanks to the tangle-free tool.
However, the performance of the main cleaning head will not be as good as the cleaning head because it lacks a motorized brush. The tangle-free turbine tool compensates for this limitation on areas such as upholstery or stairs.
You can even use this tool on the floor if you feel that the floor tool is not suitable.
The biggest downside is the price, which is just under $700. You’ll get as much for $700 as a 275W motor capable of picking up at least as much dust on your bare floor.
Dyson has also put the same ball technology found in their rolls into this top-of-the-line vacuum cleaner. This feature allows great maneuverability around the furniture.
The engineers at Dyson have also reinforced the hose making it strong enough to withstand all hauling for its life.
