What if I told you that you could buy a cordless hand/stick vacuum with Dyson suction like suction for only half the price?
Do you buy this product?
Let me introduce the Black + Decker BDH2400 which means it uses a 24v lithium ion battery.
This is one of 4 new products that B+D is introducing on the market at the moment and this product is basically a vacuum cleaner with a handheld function.
This is likely Black + Decker’s first entry into the stick vacuum market as all of its previous products are portable devices intended for quick pickups.
The features on paper are impressive – 40 watt air, 12 air cyclones, and a 24 watt lithium-ion battery.
The suction power is actually 50% stronger than the Dyson DC59 (in normal mode) which is great.

What do you expect from the Black & Decker BDH2400FH?
For nearly a year now, I’ve always wondered why Black & Decker didn’t manufacture a vacuum cleaner because so many of their competitors already made this type of vacuum cleaner.
And now they reveal this hybrid.
It’s a 2-in-1 vacuum similar to the Dyson vacuum that combines hand and stick functions in one package.
The B+D takes it a step further by outfitting this with a more powerful motor that produces 40 watts of suction power, 14 more than the Dyson in normal mode. The battery on a full charge lasts about 17 minutes and it will take about 4 hours to recharge.
Inside you’ll find 12 cyclones that B+D claims will give you fade-free power even with your mug full of grime.
The wand is not as tall as the Dyson, so tall people over 5’8 inches will have to bend slightly to use this on the floor.
The floor tool is included in the package with a mechanical brush that can be turned on and off.
It also has a swivel function, so it will be easy to maneuver.
bare floor performance
There is no brush on/off feature here, so performance on hard surfaces will be uneven.
It should be fine when cleaning dust but when cleaning larger debris like potato chips or grains, a roll of the brush will create more of a mess by tossing things around.
It’s also risky because it can scratch the surface – not a must if you have expensive floors.
carpet performance
The floor is fitted with a motorized brush that has its own motor, so the brush will help pick up surface dirt on the carpet. However, it won’t clean as deeply as a vertical shaft or can, but for quick spot cleaning, it does a great job.
Pet hair removal
Since this machine is equipped with a motorized brush, it will be able to pick up pet hair on carpets and rugs. Just don’t use it on marigolds because it will struggle but for low to medium piles it should be fine.
It also comes with a mini powered brush to clean pet hair from upholstery.
Remember that for both tools, you will need to clean the brush regularly to maintain performance.
upholstery performance
To clean the upholstery, the small motorized tool (which means it has a brush roller) can be used to clean the built-in dirt. A crevice tool can be used for loose dirt.
Attachments and accessories
You’ll get the tools you need to clean the floor and on top of it – (1) an extension wand, (2) a floor head, (3) a dusting brush and (4) an electric brush.
It also comes with a charging stand that you can mount on the wall.
This void cannot stand on its own.
Shipping time
Black and Decker didn’t say exactly how long it takes to recharge but based on reviews, it will take about 4 hours to fully charge. It has a battery indicator that tells you when it’s full.
Filter cleaning
Comes with a washable filter that can be accessed when the side door panel is opened. Before cleaning either filter, you must empty the dirt container.
The cyclone filter can then be removed. Before washing it, you will have to tap on it to take out and remove the excess dirt inside. This filter can be washed, just make sure it is dry before putting it back in.
The foam filter can be accessed here…
the show length
The official Black+Decker website-based uptime is 17 minutes but consumers have reported times varying between 11-30 minutes. If you are using this to clean carpets, expect the runtime to be closer to the previous one because the motorized brush uses more energy.
Guarantee
Consumers will get a two-year warranty on both the vacuum cleaner and battery.

Customer Reviews
Because this is a new product, most of the reviews you’ll read here are from Amazon Vine consumers – handpicked consumers handpicked by Amazon based on their track record of detailed, helpful reviews that are often unbiased.
Most consumers who have tried this vacuum cleaner said it had very good suction, especially when used as a handheld device.
Good on the open ground but
It performed very well on bare floors, but a few consumers noted that it performed best for cleaning finer debris like dust and struggled a bit when picking up larger debris. This is because you cannot turn off the motorized brush.
As for cleaning pet hair, while it is capable of it, it may not be the best for the job (if you have more than one dog) because the dirt cup is small clogged when brushing a lot of pet hair and running time. short.
Consumers love variety
The best feature of this product based on the reviews is its versatility.
You can use this as a vacuum cleaner with an extension wand.
With the floor tool turned off and open, this can clean cobwebs from the ceiling and reach into tight areas.
In manual mode, you can clean upholstery and tables. Some use this to clean their cars and have been happy with the results.
Charging time was around 4 hours and runtime ranged from 11-30 minutes, so it varies depending on the surface you’re cleaning.
Expect less uptime when cleaning carpets because the brush brush will use more energy.
Build quality was very good with the attachments clipped firmly in place.
It comes with a wall-mountable charging stand because the vacuum can’t stand on its own.
This was a cheat for some people but they don’t seem to mind it so it’s subjective.
Where can I buy this?
You can buy this vacuum cleaner on Amazon for less than $100 and it will come with free two-day shipping if you join Prime.
to finish
This vacuum cleaner would be great for people who own small homes who are looking for a lightweight and versatile cleaner.
It can clean and remove dust from the bare floor and clean the surface dirt from the carpet.
Some potential issues
The lack of a brush on/off feature somehow limits its effectiveness on carpet because it will have a hard time cleaning larger debris such as grain. The force with which the brush rotates will make more of a mess than it will throw things away.
Black + Decker should have this feature.
Despite these drawbacks, it’s still a decent quick cleaning machine that’s easy to store and has powerful suction, especially for a handheld one.
Versatile machine
The extension wand adds to the reach and allows you to clean ceiling cobwebs and air vents.
Since this is a lightweight wand, cleaning carpeted stairs won’t be a problem.
The suction power is very good for cordless use but don’t expect a deep clean here, it’s just a spot cleaner that cleans surface dirt on carpets and rugs.
While some consumers say the price is a bit high, you’ll still get a lot more for it – included with beater bars, a crevice and dusting tool, these are basically the tools you’ll need to clean every part of your home.
The battery can be a long-term problem
One long-term concern is the battery that you cannot replace. When it breaks, you either have to have it replaced by the manufacturer or get rid of it – not very good in terms of long-term viability.
If the Dyson DC59 or BDH3600SV is too expensive for you, this is a good second choice.
