Bissell Zing Bugzed Box Review

BISSELL Zing Bagged Canister Review: Lightweight and Versatile

Posted on May 23, 2022 by admin

The downside to most upright vacuums is weight and somewhat limited to cleaning floors, even if some models have a hose, it’s usually short and the reach is limited.

Step into the Bissell Zing pre-loaded broom, this broom weighs just 8 pounds and has a handle that allows you to carry it around.

If you do not like to carry things, you can pull it out because under the case there are 4 wheels.

You can use this not only on floors but also on upholstery and stairs.

This will be more effective on hard surfaces than carpet because it does not have any brushes.

This is the boxed version that uses paper bags to store dirt – great for people with respiratory conditions because getting rid of the bag won’t expose you to dust or dirt because it’s stored in a bag.

But the downside is the need to replace the bag which increases the running cost in the long run.

What to expect from Bissell Zing Bughead?

Along with the wheeled chassis that has a handle, it has a long flexible hose (the length though not specified) which allows users to use it on floors and stairs that are rough if you have long stairs.

Features of Bissel Zing Bagged

In terms of product design, Bissell Zing is a good standard. There is a foot-activated power button on the left and a wire return on the right.

The flexible hose is approximately 4 feet long but extends to approximately 6 feet.

It has a floor tool that does not have a motorized brush, so this broom will only work on bare floors.

The bag you’re using has multifiltration but no HEPA, so it won’t filter like other bagged vacuums.

Attachments and accessories

Based on the specs listed on Bissel.com, it doesn’t come with much.

It only has the floor tool and upholstery tool along with the telescopic wand but if you read the reviews two people say it also comes with a brush and a crevice tool.

upholstery

rope length

The cord is only 17 feet long, so it’s not too long and that limits reach.

The good news is that there is a button to rewind the wire, so you don’t need to spend time winding and unwinding the wire.

Filter cleaning

The filter used by this product is disposable, so there is nothing to wash it out.

The manual says you should replace the bag when it is 1/2 or 2/3 full which may increase the running cost of this machine but if you have any kind of respiratory disease this is a must

Guarantee

Bissell Zing only gives one year warranty.

Watch it in action

bare floor performance

This will perform better on exposed surfaces than carpet because it does not have any motorized brush.

It only relies on suction to pick up dirt all the way to the edges. Reviews more or less confirmed this.

It weighs only eight pounds, and you can easily carry it around and clean the drawer with ease.

The only problem I see here is the short power, which is only 17 feet long. If your home does not have any electrical outlet near the stairs, this could be a problem.

You can put the upholstery tool in place of the main floor tool for cleaning stairs.

carpet performance

You will struggle somewhat on the carpet as it lacks the beater bar which is a must for deep cleaning of carpets.

Picking up surface dirt will not be a problem but in terms of deep cleaning it will be difficult as it lacks a motorized brush.

Some of the reviews say this worked well on carpets but I’m only guessing on thinner carpets. This will not be effective on plush rugs.

I would note that due to the suction power, the floor tool tends to grab onto the area rug, making it difficult to clean.

You will have to use your foot to hold the rug in place so that you can clean it well.

Pet hair removal

Not having a motorized brushing tool does a disservice to pet hair cleaning. Cleaning like this will not be a problem on the bare floor but it will be on carpets and upholstery.

They can pick up some on bare floors and non-upholstered surfaces but without any motorized brush or some kind of pet hair accessory, that’s a weak point.

What do consumers say?

Consumers say this product has really strong suction and that the adjustable knob controlling the suction flow is a nice touch, although it still doesn’t work well on carpet as it lacks a rotating brush or brush roll which is a must for this surface.

One consumer said it was hard to squeeze the mat because the floor tool lacks wheels, and you have to pull them back to be more effective.

Even with no motorized brush, reviews say it performs decently on the carpet.

Based on the reviews I’ve read, this product will definitely work best on hardwood, tile, or any bare floor surface where there is no carpet.

The suction is strong enough to pick up dust and other debris in the road.

Remember that you will need to replace the bag once it is 2/3s full. This was not good for some due to the extra cost of not maximizing the bags.

Returning the wire is a common feature as well as the position of the return and power button because you can use your foot to depress either one.

The length of the wire though is a little short, so this will struggle in larger homes.

Even with the telescopic stick, some say it was still too short.

Finally, since this is a vacuum cleaner, it is lightweight but tends to tip over when pulled aside due to the shape of the case and the small wheels.

Many have complained about this but you have to remember that most overhead vacuums are like this.

Where can I buy this?

You can buy this versatile vacuum cleaner on Amazon for less than $50. And you’ll be eligible for free 2-day shipping if you join Prime.

They also sell extended warranties of up to 3 years if you want that extra peace of mind.

Another option is to purchase directly from the Bissell website. It will cost you the same but you will not benefit from the two-day shipping.

to finish

This bagged vacuum cleaner would be great for people who have a small to medium sized home with most hard surfaces and no pets who are looking for an affordable option.

The absence of a brush stroke limits its effectiveness on carpets. It can still clean surface dirt but on medium to plush carpets, don’t expect this to perform as well as other variants with a motorized brush.

You will struggle in larger homes due to the short power cord, which is only 17 feet high.

The absence of a brush tool also limits its versatility but it does come with an upholstery tool. So this should be from floors, stairs and furnishings without any problem.

The lack of a bag indicator worries me because it means more guesswork. This means that you will have to look inside the bag to check the condition and this exposes you to dirt.

Regardless of the limitations of this product, it is still one of the cheapest packaged vacuum cleaners available.
