360 S6 Review and Test

Posted on May 14, 2022May 26, 2022 by admin

We’ll be looking more closely at the S6 360 in this review. They do have some lofty claims, but how do they stack up against more popular brands like Roomba and Roborock?

I took it the same tests as those brands (navigation, cleaning, app tests) and showed you how the S6 stacks up.

Better than Roborock?

360 S6 Review

The 360 S6 is another brand on a growing list trying to take down Roborock. It has the same LIDAR (or laser sensor) for navigation plus two side brushes. However, the cleaning dynamics are not as good as Roborock and Roomba. The main brush does not have a spring system, which means that it will not adjust to the height of the surface. It is a similar design to Viomi V3, which will negatively affect it, cleaning the carpet.

Introduction to the S6 360

360 is another company that aims to displace Roborock. It has similar features with laser distance sensor and combo brush.

It adds an extra side brush to give it a better edge cleaning in theory. I like that this brush doesn’t spin as fast, but having two brushes will disperse more dirt based on tests.

This shouldn’t be a problem cleaning things up like dust, but rather a problem with debris like quinoa and Quaker oats.

Design

360 S6 above

The alternative I have is the white version, which I recommend, only because it’s cheaper. Like Roborock, it has LIDAR on top. Below is the trash can that pops up but doesn’t hold much dirt – just 0.4 liters. Unfortunately, it’s a size smaller than the S5 Max.

litter box design

360 S6 Trash

The dust container is unique, with a hole at the top, which gives it plenty of space, so getting rid of dirt will be easy.

There are three layers of filtration: fine mesh, foam, and HEPA filter. 360 says the filter is washable, but you will need to replace it every 12 months.

360 Filters S6

A closer look below

360 S6 underneath

Next, we’ll look at the design below. The 360 has a combo brush similar to the Roborock brush with rubber bristles and blades.

But the brush set does not have a spring loaded system. So the brush roller is placed on a fixed board and can’t adjust to the height of the surface.

Another robot with this feature is Fiumi V3And it was terrible on the carpet.

Fortunately, the S6’s design is better and picks up debris at a higher rate. It struggles with fine things like ground coffee on a low or medium pile rug.

It has two side brushes and a wiping pad/tank slot behind it.

How does the S6 360 navigate?

The best feature of the 360 S6 is its navigation. With LIDAR, it passes in ordered rows. I like that it doesn’t hit the hard, subtle hurdles of finding the charging dock after running.

One of the issues I have, and it’s significant, is her inability to get past the area more than once.

Other brands like Roborock and Fiume It provides the user with the ability to increase or decrease the number of runs, but this is absent in the 360 application.

It only rotates once and then docks, and this affects the cleaning performance. The solution would be to schedule additional runs, but I prefer to control this aspect.

You can only set the number of runs in the in-place cleaning section.

Will the S6 360 outwear the furniture?

One additional point for the S6 is its ability to avoid furniture. It does an excellent job of slowing down, just pushing things, and not crashing into them at full speed.

How will you do in confined spaces?

This robot is smart enough to navigate through a narrow maze. I tested it under this set of chair legs, and it didn’t get lost or stuck.

360 S6 In Tight Areas

LIDAR and the algorithm are well designed in this aspect.

Can wires be avoided?

Unfortunately, none of the robot vacuums I’ve tested can completely avoid wires. Even the Roborock S6 MaxV, with its AI technology and front camera, is still tangled. The 360 S6 is no exception, so please arrange those wires before powering this robot.

Climbing ability

The new test I’m trying now is the climbing ability or the robot’s ability to climb obstacles. For the experiment, I’m using a 0.5″ and 0.8″ rug.

360 S6 Climbing Over 0.8 Inch Mat

Climbing 0.8 inch rugs will not be a problem for the S6.

The 360 S6 was fine on both rugs and had no issues.

One caveat is that it will push lighter carpets. Remove any rugs that have tassels or those that don’t have any rubber inserts because they will slip all over the place.

360 S6 app features

360 has its own app, and we’ll go over the features in this section.

360 S6 App

It contains the map in the main interface with additional information underneath. There are four icons in the bottom row to toggle the default cleaning cycle, power modes, and access the options box.

restricted areas

360 S6 restricted area

Users will also be able to access restricted areas, preventing the bot from entering rectangular or square areas.

But it doesn’t have virtual walls or fonts that act as walls.

space

360 S6 area advantage

Users can also tell the bot to clean a specific area of the room or the floor using this feature. It’s similar to spot cleaning but with more control over the area you want to clean.

Unfortunately, it passes over the area once. You will have to perform frequent runs for a more thorough cleaning.

scheduling

Schedule 360 S6

Consumers can also decide when to clean the robot. It has the same flexibility as Roborock to schedule unlimited runs per day. It also provides users with the opportunity to select the days of the week, days of the week, or specific days of the week.

Date

360 S6 History

This part shows the previous cleaning cycles of the robot. You can see the map, the area that has been cleaned, and the time it takes to clean.

maintenance

360 S6 Maintenance

It provides users with heads up when replacing components such as filter, side brush, main brush and sensors.

Please note that percentages are not accurate as they are time based. It would be better if you still do your due diligence and visually inspect the parts.

How much power does the S6 360 have?

I used an anemometer to check the airflow in the main brush at the three power settings.

  • silent: <3 cubic feet per minute
  • Basic: 6.78 cubic feet per minute
  • strong: 7.91 cubic feet per minute

The results were just disappointing Max 7.91 CFMwhich is a level Roomba 675 and 690.

Since the S6 doesn’t have anti-roll or dirt-detection brushes, it won’t do as well as the Roomba on carpet.

The lowest setting cannot be used even on surface dirt and for mopping only, leaving only two settings for the vacuum cleaner.

cleaning performance

To check how well the 360 S6 picks up different types of dirt, I ran a series of tests with things like ground coffee, Quaker oats, quinoa, sand, Cheerios, fruit rings, and more.

My concern at first was not having a self-adjusting brush because my Vumi used a similar brush and it performed poorly on carpets.

First, here are the overall results.

  • Total: 84.85%
  • Solid ground: 93.6%
  • Carpet (surface): 89.95%
  • Sand on the hard floor: 93.7%
  • deep cleaning: 62.15% (second range: 78.5%, third range: 88.9%)

Compared to other LIDAR-based robots, the 360 S6 received one of the lowest scores. However, it was still better than the Viomi V3 on the carpet.

One of the reasons is the lack of passes. The app does not have a feature to set how often the robot will move.

That’s why I tried to see how much you could capture in the second and third rounds in some tests.

But this omission is something 360 must improve if it is to compete with Roborock and Roomba.

I think it’s a simple adjustment they can come up with.

hard floor results

360 S6 Cleaning Quaker Oats on Hard Floors
360 S6 to clean coffee residue on hard floors
360 S6 Cleaning Quinoa on Hard Floors
360 S6 Cleaning Pet Litter On Hard Floor

  • Quaker Oats: 96.2%
  • Cafe floors: 94%
  • Quinoa: 91.2%
  • pet litter: 93%

The double-sided brush was one of the reasons it didn’t pick up as much as it kicked up debris. Also, the one pass only option didn’t help as it lacked accuracy.

These are the end results as I test all the bots based on a single virtual run of the Intelligent Navigator Robots for uniformity.

Edge cleaning test

I sprinkled ground coffee on the edge of the room to see how much the S6 cleaned.

For the experiment, I used the zone clean mode with the cleaning times set to twice. So it will circle the area twice.

This is a shot before and after the first half.

Edge Cleaning 360 S6 After Power On 1

The results were decent. It was able to pick up most of the coffee, but it wasn’t a clean result. You run the second.

Unfortunately, it didn’t pick up much, so the brush doesn’t have enough width to pick up debris in this area.

hair wrap test

I tested the 360 S6, how tangle-resistant it is with five and seven inch strands of hair. Unfortunately, it didn’t work well with either length. You can see the amount of coiled hair after both tests.

360 Hair Wrap S6

One of the reasons is reduced air flow. Another is the lack of an anti-tangle system.

Low stack results

360 S6 Cleaning Quaker Oats on a Low Lint Carpet
360 S6 Cleaning Coffee on a Low Lint Carpet
360 S6 Cleaning Quinoa on a Low Lint Carpet
360 S6 Cleaning Pet Litter On A Low Lint Carpet

  • Quaker Oats: 92.8% (Second Range: 96.8%)
  • Cafe floors: 76% (Second round: 85%)
  • Quinoa: 92.6%
  • pet litter: 94.8%

The results on the low pile mirror those of the hard floor, except for the ground coffee where it struggled. I tried a second round and recorded the results. Even with overtime running, the S6 still doesn’t score higher than the S5 Max.

Mid-stack results

360 S6 Cleaning Quaker Oats on a Medium Pile Carpet
360 S6 Cleaning coffee on a medium-pile carpet
360 S6 Cleaning quinoa on a medium-pile carpet
360 S6 Cleaning pet litter on a medium-pile carpet

  • Quaker Oats: 97.6%
  • Cafe floors: 73.8% (Second round: 85.4%)
  • Quinoa: 96.6%
  • pet litter: 95.4%

One surprising result here is the high score with Quaker Oats. Again, you’re having a hard time cleaning up fine debris like coffee grounds. I did a second run to see if it would pick up more (about 12% more), but there was plenty of visible debris left.

Deep cleaning results

My concern at first was the lack of a self-regulating system. But the S6 was decent with the amount of sand it picked up against the airflow numbers.

the official score 62.15%Not bad for a single swipe robot. He. She It rose to 78.5% in the second round And 88.9% in the thirdRumba County.

Once again, being able to control the number of passes is essential to any intelligent robotic vacuum to navigate.

Can it clean up large debris?

Yes, I tested it on very large and extra large objects like chiaros and fruit rings.

It will pick up large debris, even in the middle. The only limiting factor is the trash’s small size – you’ll have to empty it a lot.

Scan feature

In addition to vacuuming, the 360 S6 can mop floors, adding to its versatility. It comes with an 80ml gravity tank, so range is limited.

I tried it with dry red wine stains on tiles and here’s the result after the first round.

Wipe 360 S6 Before And After Shots After Power On 1

For a robot with a gravity tank, the results were astounding. There are very few stains left, but there are visible marks on the tires and side brush. Nothing you want on a dark tile.

I run it a second time to see if the thread tags are cleared.

Wipe 360 S6 Before And After Shots After Power On 2

But the results are slightly better than the Roborock S6 Pure and E4 with the water flowing more freely. You will need to refill it often due to the small capacity.

How Noisy the 360 S6 Is?

One blessing for the low airflow is the low noise output.

  • calm: 60.3 dB
  • Basic: 60.7 dB
  • strong: 63.7 dB

You can use this robot even late at night and not wake up the neighborhood. I recommend using a quiet setting for wiping as the suction is almost non-existent.

How Long Does the S6 360 Run?

The S6 360 will run for up to 110 minutes on the lowest setting. One caveat is that the lower setting is almost unusable since it doesn’t have any airflow. Predict a number closer to the 90-minute mark using the Standard or Strong modes.

Uptime shouldn’t be a concern as the S6 has recharged and resumed. So it will resume cleaning at the same spot you left if it doesn’t finish the job.

maintenance

As with all robot vacuums, the S6 360 will need some maintenance to run at its peak.

Below I will identify the components that need regular maintenance.

  1. Main and side brush: These two components require regular maintenance. Contaminants such as hair and dust will accumulate.
  2. Dustbin: Empty after each run to prevent debris from spilling. Vacuum or wash all three filters when you see any dirt buildup.
  3. Wheels: Use a microfiber cloth to wipe up debris stuck on the wheels and wheels.
  4. Lidar: Check for any debris around the vicinity of the laser sensor and use a handheld device with a brush to clean.
  5. fall sensors: Wipe the three droplet sensors below with a clean towel.

Availability of spare parts

It will not be difficult to find components such as filter and brushes. You can find it on Amazon. However, parts such as the battery or side brush motor are harder to get on. I’ve seen some on AliExpress, but not anywhere else.

Does the S6 360 offer excellent value?

There is a lot to like about the S6. It’s cheaper than the Roborock S5 Max and Roomba 980 – two of the main competitors. And very suitable for deep single track carpet cleaning.

However, it lacks some features that I feel are essential for a robot vacuum.

The first is the lack of control over the number of passes. Brands like Roborock and Roomba have this feature to limit how often the robot can move around the area. It is only available in zone cleaning mode, which is not enough.

Secondly, the lack of an automatic adjustment system in the brush roll. This means that the brush rests in a fixed area. There is no way to self-adjust on different surface types.

Finally, the lack of airflow. I was surprised that it was at Roomba level 675. At the lowest setting, it could barely move the anemometer.

5 reasons to buy the S6 360

  1. lower cost: The S6 is a cheaper alternative to the Roborock S5 Max or Roomba 980 (the white version is much less expensive).
  2. Intelligent navigation: LIDAR and SLAM enable it to traverse efficiently in multiple rooms.
  3. Saves up to 10 maps: 360 app can save up to 10 map levels. However, you will have to select the correct level manually if you move it to another level.
  4. Easy to unload: The top door design of the S6 trash can provides plenty of space for dirt disposal.
  5. Decent in deep cleaning: I love the S60 and S6 for deep cleaning carpets more than anything else. Even with a single pass turned on, it’s up 62.15%. With three runs, it goes up to 88.9%, near the Roomba area.

Verdict: An excellent choice on carpets

Despite the reduced airflow, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the 360 S6 performs on the carpet. Side brush scattering debris does not appear on carpet as much as on hard surfaces.

One of the surprises during the testing phase was the amount of compact sand it picked up. Despite running in just one pass, it was picked up in the low 60s and up to 88.9% in three strokes — 85% above the S5 Max average.

Users cannot modify the number of permits, except for the area cleanup section of the app. One solution is to schedule consecutive runs, but this is an extra step and a waste of time.

It is a good and less expensive alternative to Roborock, Neato or Roomba. Just be wary of the limitations you outlined in this review.
